My name is Andrew Gilman (SFGI, 04) and I manage The Agora Foundation, formerly The Great Books Seminars in Ojai.Our endeavor has been in operation since 1998, using tutors from St. John's and Thomas Aquinas College to conduct seminars about every six weeks or so, excludingsummer. I am writing to you to let you know about our Fall 2007 season,with two events in mind. First, and I realize this is short notice, we have been holding a series of seminars on Ethics, and onSeptember 15th we will have two seminars following by a lecture byMike McLean, dean of Thomas Aquinas College. Details are below. Of special interest to this community will be the November event,in which Eva Brann will conduct a lecture and Thomas Aquinas College, and then conduct two seminars forour group the following day. Again, details are below.

The Agora Foundation (formerly the Great Books Seminars in Ojai)ispleased toannounce its fall 2007 offerings. Following the lecture there will be an optional dinner (see the additional fee schedule at the bottom of this message).

The Agora Foundation offers a pricing structure to allow more interested participants to experience the unique benefits these seminars provide. We ask each attendee to select the category that best fits their circumstance.
Bronze-Level Sponsor - $50 per event Silver-Level Sponsor - $100 per event Gold-Level Sponsor - $200 per event Platinum-Level Sponsor - $300 per event
Sponsorship tuition includes attendance at the one- or two-day events, books, refreshments and lunch. Lodging is not included.
September 15th Optional Wine and dinner additional fee:
Single dinner attendee - $30 total Two dinner attendees - $50 total Four dinner attendees - $75 total

The Agora Foundation offer small groups of interested people a unique opportunity to consider and discuss important themes over a series of inspiring weekend seminars. Join us for a retreat in Southern California's beautiful Ojai Valley and explore the questions that have been debated through the centuries by the greatest minds of our civilization.
At these events attendees read and learn directly from the great books and discuss as equals the meanings and implications of the selected readings.
Discussions are guided by seminar leaders who pose questions designed to stimulate reflection on the readings. Tutors are selected from Thomas Aquinas College, St. John's College, various universities around the country, and are also co-tutored by long-timeAgora Foundation attendees.
