A CALL FOR ADMISSIONS ALUMNI REPRESENTATIVES
I'm seeking young or youngish alumni who are interested in supporting the college by having occasional conversations, via email and sometimes then by phone, with prospective students. You'll only get called on a few times a year, if that often; but it is terrifically helpful to the Admissions Office to have alumni at the ready.
I try to match prospective students up with alumni in their geographic area, and am therefore especially seeking alumni in these currently under-represented states:
Alabama
Arizona
Arkansas
Colorado
Florida
Georgia
Hawaii
Idaho
Indiana
Kansas
Kentucky
Louisiana
Minnesota
Mississippi
Missouri
Montana
Nebraska
New Mexico
North Dakota
Oklahoma
South Carolina
South Dakota
Tennessee
Texas
Utah
Washington
Wyoming
But I can happily employ alumni from any geographic area, because when I get a request from a student living in an area I don't have covered well, or where the alumni representative has been overtaxed with requests, I set up long-distance conversations.
The Admissions Office does not expect alumni representatives to stay up on admissions procedures, financial aid minutiae, or anything having to do with a student's application status: we're just hoping you'll be willing to chat with students about your experience at the college, what's become of you since graduation, what you think about what we do, etc. In a positive way, one hopes!
Please email me if you're interested.
With thanks,
Roberta Gable
