Introducing IntroMaps, an alumni networking portal coming in mid-AprilSt. John’s College and the St. John’s College Alumni Association are pleased to announce the rollout in mid-April of IntroMaps, a new alumni networking tool that will help you more easily connect with alumni in your area and around the globe.
Whether you move to a new town or travel for business, IntroMaps will make it simple and convenient for you to connect with Johnnies wherever you are using your computer or smartphone. The application has the look and feel of Google Maps, coupled with the networking capabilities of LinkedIn. You can also use IntroMaps to search for and network with alumni who share common career interests or general life interests. Notice of Elections and Annual Meeting of the Alumni AssociationThe 2015 Annual Meeting of the St. John’s College Alumni Association will be held on Sunday, June 7, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m on the Santa Fe campus in the Junior Common Room of the Peterson Student Center. This meeting is open to all alumni, students, faculty, and staff. During the meeting, alumni will learn about the current state of the association and will elect a president-elect, and six at-large members of the association’s board of directors. In addition, alumni will elect one member of the college’s Board of Visitors and Governors. Additional information about the elections, including the slate of candidates proposed by the Alumni Association board and how to nominate other candidates by petition, will be available on this site by no later than April 8.
Register Now for the Alumni Leadership Forum, June 5–7 in Santa FeThe Alumni Leadership Forum (ALF) is a weekend-long event put on by the Alumni Association for Johnnies from all class years, both campuses, undergraduate and graduate programs. ALF features seminars, tutorials, useful work sessions, and opportunities for alumni to meet and reconnect, and has become a welcome way for alumni to learn more about how they can pool their skills and talents to support current students, fellow alumni, and St. John’s College. Our second-semester line-up of readings, suggested by our most regular participants in the virtual chapter, continues on Sunday, April 12, with Conrad’s Heart of Darkness, led by Sam Kutler. Award NominationsThe Alumni Association presents three different awards annually, and we need your help identifying members of the SJC community who deserve to be recognized. If you know of someone who you would like to nominate to receive any of these awards (described in more detail below), please submit a nomination form (available for download here; contact the Alumni Office if you need it in a different format).
> Award of Merit: the Award of Merit recognizes an alum for distinguished and meritorious service to the United States, to their native state, to the college, or for outstanding achievement within a chosen field.
> Volunteer Service Award: the Volunteer Service Award (aka “ALFie”) recognizes an alum for extraordinary volunteer service to the Association or the college, and is presented at the Alumni Leadership Forum.
> Honorary Alumni: Honorary membership in the Alumni Association is given to any person for their significant role, service, or contribution in or to the life of the college, especially as regards alumni or students.
